HOW WE SUPPORT
OUR APPROACH
TUT takes a thoughtful, entrepreneurial, and strategic approach to philanthropy. We look for opportunities where our support - whether through early catalytic funding, matching capital, or strategic partnership - can help unlock broader potential.
Our work is primarily focused in the United Kingdom, where the Trust has its roots and longstanding relationships, while also supporting Jewish communities and causes globally, where there is strong alignment with our mandate.
We believe that backing the right people is as important as backing the right ideas. We seek out initiatives where strong leadership, integrity, and practical expertise align with meaningful causes - and where our involvement can help accelerate impact.
Beyond funding, we aim to add value wherever possible: offering experience, introductions, and support for long-term sustainability and success.
We aim to support good people doing important work, with care, trust, and a clear sense of purpose.

WHAT WE SUPPORT

Education
We support educational initiatives that promote learning excellence, inclusive access, and real-world opportunity - across both formal and informal settings.

SOCIAL WELFARE
We support organisations that provide practical assistance to those experiencing economic hardship or navigating social vulnerability.

HEALTH & MENTAL HEALTH
We support health-related causes that have a personal connection to the Trust or our wider network - guided and informed by our community.

ARTS & CULTURE
We focus on increasing access to the arts, supporting educational exposure, and creating opportunities for participation, particularly among young people.

CLIMATE
We are building our climate approach through catalytic investments and partnerships - with a focus on innovation, cross-border action, and resilience.

REGIONAL PEACE
Our giving in this area supports peacebuilding and humanitarian rights in the Middle East, particularly in relation to the Israeli-Palestinian context.

THE JEWISH PEOPLE
We support Jewish heritage, culture, community and education - including initiatives that reflect identity, belonging, and shared experience, in the UK and internationally.
EQUALITY
This is a visible thread across much of our work - including support for gender justice, refugee inclusion, and those pushing for fairer systems.

TYPES OF SUPPORT
To fund a specific project, launch an initiative, or respond quickly to an emerging need. These grants are often designed to give something momentum - helping move an idea from concept to reality, or supporting an organisation at a key turning point.
ONE-TIME GRANT CONTRIBUTIONS
Small, flexible contributions that allow us to support a wide range of causes, often in an agile, low-friction way. We use microgrants to support new relationships, explore emerging initiatives, and reach promising work that may not require larger-scale funding. Their flexibility allows us to widen our network and engage with a broader spectrum of impact.
MICROGRANTS
To provide continuity for an organisation’s work and enable deeper, long-term collaboration. These grants may also reflect a strategic relationship between the foundation and the grantee, with active involvement from one or more trustees.
MULTI-YEAR
PARTNERSHIPS
Supporting initiatives in collaboration with other funders or networks. We believe that collective giving can unlock more strategic, better-resourced support - amplifying both reach and impact.
COLLABORATIVE
GIVING
Alongside our grant giving we also pursue investments that align with our values and extend our ability to create meaningful change. Impact investments have included support for mission-driven startups, eco-conscious property development, impact funds, and media projects with a social purpose. This work enables us to back innovation while sustaining the foundation’s long-term capacity to give.
